New Jenga game keeps you on your toes and doesn't

I received this as a part of the Walmart Sparks review team. I have played regular Jenga in the past. I liked the older version of Jenga but admit it was rather redundant and could get boring after playing a few times...seems everyone had a strategy for removal of the blocks so every game seemed to follow a pattern. This version has a shaking element that is RANDOM, so forget trying the same old tried and true strategies . Finally, a game that every play is different! The game does require 3 batteries that are not included in the game , but for the small additional cost of batteries you get a game that is going to hold interest and be exciting for a LONG time. The added shake factor is what makes this game a winner. Don't be fooled into thinking the shake factor is just a simple little twist though...the shake intensity changes and does not follow a pattern...it's RANDOM, which keeps the players on their toes and evens the play field for less experienced players. Kids can play with each other, kids can play adults, adults can play adults...this game covers all the bases and is fun and exciting for everyone. The blocks are not wooden like the old Jenga, they are a colored* orange, gray and darker gray* hollow plastic( weight is greatly reduced making the shake element a major component of game play) and the shake element does go from light shaking to a major full out tear 'em down shake that will level the blocks , but being as it is completely random no-one knows when the "big one" will hit, which adds to the level of fun in my opinion. As I understand it, if the tower topples on your turn( regardless of if you removed a block or not) then you lose...which seriously cuts down on those players who 'take forever' choosing a block to remove. Nothing worse than waiting 'forever' for the opponent to make his/her move . This game MOVES...literally( pun intended) so if you stall in taking your move and 'the big one ' hits...you might just lose , so make your move and hope it's still standing tall! I am happy to add this game to our family's collection and am feeling really pumped that it won't be a 'one and done' game...I see many Jenga games being played with this one.

Always a good game!

I have always loved this game and the original game I haved played extensively to the point that the game I had was literally worn out. I was planning on getting a new game of Jenga eventually but probably would not have purchased this version. It is highly addicitive just like the original version and you can't play just one game yet with a certain twist literally. It twists and turns and there are quakes that are on the higher end of the Richter Scale, quote, unquote. This will be a well played game. I love the colors ,the orange is almmost flourescent and I love flourescent colors. It is soo easy to set up, there are not as many levels of playing blocks as regular Jenga, but this game is not played to see how many levels you can reach but for the tower to still be standing after your turn and five seconds have elapsed and the quake or tremor didn't hit that shake the tower to collapse or if it still stands it won't automatically be taken out with each quake which makes it more exciting to watch what happens. There is no set pattern so it is guesswork when the the tremors will hit and you cannot predict when they will occur.

If you love Jenga, this is an interesting twist

This game came packaged in a box with two other games to review. One was damaged but this box was not. The unit was in good working order upon arrival and setup. Contents of the box: Tower Base Information sheet 36 colored plastic blocks The blocks come in four different colors. Two different shades of orange and then two different grays. They are made of plastic and they're not smooth like your standard Jenga blocks. They have a chipped off edge to them resembling slightly worn/damaged bricks. The blocks themselves are lightweight and level like your standard block. The quality is decent. I am very pleased with the construction of this product. This game is basically your standard Jenga game but with an interesting twist. The tower base unit randomly shakes the tower on its own. After each player takes their turn they must wait 5 seconds before someone else takes theirs. If the tower falls before the 5 second timer, that player loses the game and must rebuilt the tower. Stated in the manual: If the tower falls in the brief time between the player's turns, the first player rebuilds the tower and the game continues with no penalty to either player. The unit has a 10 minute inactivity timer and will turn itself off. You can turn it off manually by pressing and holding the power button for two seconds. I highly recommend this product. It's very easy to setup and play. It is suspenseful, and potentially very addictive with the right crowd. Alone, this would be fun as well for a quick challenge fix. I think it is very much worth the price, whatever it is. I think you could also reuse the blocks as building blocks if you really wanted to as well. The only thing I wish that this included was a timer for 5 seconds. For me, it's a bit difficult to keep track of the 5 seconds while watching the tower. I suppose you could have someone be designated as the timer person/referee. Buy it! You wont regret it!
