Makes 1" cubes %26 a lot of them at one time. As long as you don't overfill the trays, they'll come out fairly easy. Just wait a minute or two b4 popping them out using the lid %26 you'll have a good amount. Any stubborn ones can b pushed out by hand, but that's rare (don't overfill). The scoop can b left in the container w/the ejected ice. It's great to have all the ice I want. Glad I purchased this :-)

This ice cube bin and the trays are amazing. To be honest I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do because of the reviews I was reading or I think the total rating was not that high. First of all the bin and lid are very well made, sturdy, quality product. The trays are the same. Quality product, easy to use, and well made. To make it easier read the instructions that come with the set, remember water expands a little when it's freezing, so you have to remember that when filling the trays. If you do those things you'll love this set too. I do recommend this set. I've been using it I think about a month the constant freezing has not done anything to the trays. I've left them out after dumping ice, then filled them hours later and put them back in the freezer. They are perfect. You know, I think I need another set. Get you a set you will love it too. ooooh and one other thing.... the cubes are little square solid pieces maybe half inch by half inch idk, these are perfect to put in your hydroflask bottle or whatever cup or bottle you use. I always have cold and I mean cold water or tea all day and it's not watered down well except the water would be lol Great purchase I'm so glad I came across this set. Thank you Walmart
