DO NOT BUY!!!

I'll join the other 3 current 1 star reviews for this piece of JUNK. FAILED after only 110 days. Internal mechanism started resisting manual closing and opening. Then this junk would open AND close together instead of just opening OR closing. Honeywell used to have a good reputation. DO NOT BUY!!!

RECEIVED WRONG COLOR

I ordered this Honeywell Lock in an Antique Brass finish, but I received a shiny Brass finish, instead. Now, I've been terribly inconvenienced by having to return the lock.

Capable only (1) 4-digit code, horrific cust serv

Do not order this Honeywell deadbolt lock if you want anymore than an overly priced basic keypad with one 4-digit code for your family. This is not for Airbnb hosts or landlords, or anyone who needs to easily change the master key without downloading the app, which when you install, may require dismantling of the lock to reset to factory setting before proceeding. Without the app, you must dismantle the entire lock to change the code. What they also don't tell you before you purchase this, is the 50 additional codes they describe are actually 8-digit, randomly generated codes that you can't shorten or customize, that can only be created through the app. If you don't want to deal with an 8-digit code that people won't remember, the recipient must have installed and registered the app on their phone, using their email. If someone relies on this app and their phone dies or they lose it, you'll be getting a 3am wake up call. Of course, you can't unlock it from where you are, you'll need to be within 2 ft of the phone to unlock it with your app. By the way, this isn't a Honeywell product, they only put their name on it. If you need customer support, you'll have to contact a company LHLP, who is only open 9-5 m-f. Of course any time of the day, you'll be routed to voicemail and a rep will get back to you in 1-2 business days at their convenience. The 3 reps that did call back, insisted I could generate 4-digit codes. However, in all 3 cases, the reps were not only incompetent, but were short and literally raised their voices when I couldn't locate the tab that actually does not even exist on the app. One threatened to hang up on me, when I was “short” right back to him. Turns out, even though I gave them the product model, they were looking at an app for a different product. Of course, I received no apology. Then, the last rep I spoke with, told me he sent me instructions that they “normally they don't give customers”. However, after I hung up and retrieved the instructions he sent, I realized that clearly these instructions were also not for the app I have. I did attempt to email this company support, 3 days later, still waiting for a response. I won't hold my breath. Also keep in mind, my app was initially unable to register the lock, because it showed the lock was previously registered. It tells you the previous registration must be deleted first. Since I couldn't contact LHLP, luckily I figured out that you can bypass this by dismantling the lock completely and simply resetting the lock to factory settings. Obviously, I don't recommend this lock. You can purchase a basic keypad for a fraction of the cost of this worthless smartlock.
