So far a week in, I love this fan and the remote; however, I would suggest settings on the fan as well because if I happen to loose the remote or the unusual buckle type battery goes out I'm screwed for a fan.

I'm a fan of the fan and esp the remote.

Def some assembly required, but it was simple and all the parts were there BUT there is one tiny little nut/bolt combo that hooks the front/back grills together (non-essential) that had come loose from wherever. I found the nut by accident right away, and later had to shake out a plastic bag to get the little bolt. Fan is great: quiet, fairly powerful, and all features seem to work. It's keeping me cool as I type this, and helps me sleep better in these southern NV desert summer nights. And I LOVE having the remote on my nightstand. All fans should have one!
