I run between a 36 to 38, so I initially ordered the Large. Fits great in waist, no need to tie the drawstring. However, very snug in the legs, so I reordered in the XL. Had to use drawstring but not too tight. Fit was better in the legs and overall. Soft material, 100% cotton, and the waist is similar to their comfort for used in some of their boxer briefs which is very nice.
