In as little as 5 minutes, your kids can accomplish the DIY project with you and ready to set the unit in use. The mechanism - Just turn the tune and tighten each tube connection. That is it. Love this little guy. Very easy tool free assembly. Assembly was quick and painless. No Innocents were harmed in the assembly of this project. Matches the desk I purchased. It's lightweight but it does hold the large computer tower without the top shelf. Purchased this for my son's room when he comes home for leave. Hooya go Navy.
