This is absolutely perfect for my daughter's gaming room. I was surprised at first on the size and how small it was. I thought that it was going to underperform. However I was pleasantly surprised. I do have to say that we have not experienced the heat of the summer just yet in its entirety, but we live in a two-story home that is hard to regulate the upstairs temperature, so sometimes and gets a little too hot in some of the rooms and so far this works beautifully. My daughter's game room is about 11X11 feet,door closed.

An Evaporative Air Cooler Is A Humidifier - Swamp Cooler, which uses water directly. In theory, the cooler the water, the cooler the air passing through the water barrier, and in this case a wetting pad serves as the water barrier. So know what you are purchasing and understand it's function is to raise the humidity and prevent dry air, but also to offer cooler moist air. The most ideal place to use one of these coolers is in dry air desert areas in Central and Western USA. So if you already live in a high humidity area, like the South-East Region, then the cooler feature only works if you can get the water temperature lower than room temperature, and the room is less than 150 Sq.Ft., and you don't mind sitting in the wind stream. So to be honest, if you can install a cheap window AC unit instead, then you will be better off doing so. Otherwise, you can try this air cooler, but don't expect any cooling miracles. Another place this device can be used is in a greenhouse, just FYI. --- So far I have been able to get some wonderful cool air out of this unit, but I cheated at first time startup by throwing a tray of ice cubes in the bottom water reservoir, and placing a blue-ice pack in the upper reservoir. YaaaHooo, my ears got cold after 30 minutes, lol. The next trick is keeping a schedule and constantly circulating the actual ice packs that came with it. It's my new experimental toy! LOL
