We needed something to place under a mattress on a loft bed, but not too high like a box spring. This was perfect. It's two square pieces, rather than one large rectangular piece. The split wood bunkie board fits perfectly. It's completely covered (front %26 back). The bed has slats with large gaps, which resulted in uncomfortable sleep. It was very easy to install, and it took the place of a box spring. Now there's no more pressure points from the slats %26 the bed feels sturdier.
