Retro Shorty Boots fit extremely tight when Wal-Mart ran out of the dize 5 in black I went to Bearpaws and ordered my shoes. My left foot I got my foot in without any problems my right foot the boot was extremely tight. My boyfriend would not allow me to return them. I have a weird foot small foot with an extremely wide width and extremely tiny heal we had the boots fixed with a tiny piece of elastic and all the insulation removed that way I could wear the boots all year. But that did solve my problem this year I needed a pair of shoes for winter that would keep my feet warm plus allow me to wear my insulated pants that were too thick to get tucked into my Bearpaws tall boots and too skinny to go over them so I bought another pair size 6. I love both my size 5 and 6. Walking in this shoes is like walking in a pair of Avia 5000 but my feet stay warm. Once my size 5 was fixed I now could hem all my pants that are too long. I know there are shoes on the market like wedges that I could wear in the summer. I have an artifical knee I also have rods in my bones to keep my knee from collasping my ligaments were severely damaged in a car accident my left knee was smashed so heels and wedges were out of the question. I needed a pair of shoes that the wedge was the same height and width across the entire shoe Retro Super Shorty Boots fit my needs. On Bearpaws website women complained on how tight the shoes are most women who complained returned the boots those who returned the boot and got the larger size their heal slipped out. Other women complained the boot should have come ith a side zipper to get the boot on easier sorry these boot do not have a side zipper. Everything I've experienced with these shoes have been complained on Bearpaw website. I've discovered within an hour the boot does loosen up and yes my heal does slip out in the size 6. I will just wear two pair of socks a thin pair and a thick pair to stop that. But walking in these boots is like walking on air the boots are not heavy. If you can get your foot pass how tight they are I think you will enjoy wearing them this winter plus these boots are water resistant yeah What bothers me the most when I ordered my size 6 in black though Wal-mart was the price. Size 6 89.99 size 7 64.41 and each black was a different price depending on size but the smaller size in black always the highest price. I felt I was punished because I have little feet. It's like petite clothes petite clothes are always a higher price
