It's not a regular size backpack. Smaller. There is a zipped compartment inside the backpack and a draw string outside. Two mash compartments in front with draw strains and the side pocket can put the cell phone. The only complaint I have is if I put my max plus iPhone in this side pocket, it changes the shape of the backpack. It's a little bit awkward.
