I adore basil. I prefer it over oregano and will go heavy with it any time I make pasta. I really struggled with what to do with the product once I received it. Which seems silly. Basil automatically means spaghetti sauce to me. But I really wanted to try it do something unique with it beyond pasta sauce. So I did a little research on what flavor profiles that basil works with beyond tomatoes and garlic. Also since it's almost fall I settled on a dessert instead of a savory dish. I decided to try my hand at a blackberry and basil sourdough. That didn't work out as well as I wanted but I did like the flavor so I decided to keep it some and next did blackberry scones with a basil and lemon glaze. My husband said they were delicious but "bougie". I took them to work and they were gone 10 minutes after I put them on the food counter.
