I got this bag because I was having to walk to the grocery store and when you use the bus you can only use those little carts so I needed something to where I could get a little more on my grocery trips to bring groceries back home and walking. So this absolutely did it. It has a huge storage capacity. I was able to fit quite a bunch in there. Of course I couldn't fit too much because then it would be too heavy for me to wear. But it seems to be sturdy construction. It does have the locking system for one compartment which I assume is typically used for something like a laptop where you would want a little extra protection?... where you can enter a code but I have not bothered to use it because what are they going to do... steal my russet potatoes? My can of ravioli? LoL. Besides I think the locking system is a false sense of security, anyways. It may stop somebody from reaching into your bag while you're actually wearing it on your back in crowds... but if somebody wants to steal from you they're just going to grab the whole bag and run.
