Getting it started seems to have a child proof feature. Top : Time, Middle On/Off Bot: Level. Press middle first, then power level then time. 6 hr shut-off works fine. There's even an auto level downgrade to keep it from getting to hot. So it's not uncommon in my use to see it drop to 1 around the 4hr limit. It auto shifts from 6 -4 -2 etc as the time counts down. Using it as both a foot warmer and drink warmer at the foot of the bed %26 you can really feel the heat. Highly recommend it. Just lay 64 oz bottles of your favorite beverage on it at the foot of the bed under blankets, comforter what not %26 the heat from the bottles will move towards you under that fabric. At Level 5, they aren't just warm. They are hot but not to the touch. Pretty ideal.

Loved it so much in blue, I bought it again in lavender. The fabric is very soft. It washes well if you follow the instructions. It's perfect on the lowest setting for my senior cat - she loves it. The automatic shut-off is an important feature for me. The first one was holding up nicely, so I bought a second one for me. Both colors are pretty and true to photos. Really good value.
