the reviews are right, these chairs do sit a few inches lower than the average chair. the leather is stiff, not soft. but i still like the chair and will keep it.

Too short
I looked at this chair carefully before purchasing but, in reality, the seat is about 2 inches lower than it appears in its illustrations! I love the chair but it is too low. I feel it in my knees each time I stand. I needed a desk chair without wheels and this seemed the best of the bunch but, the fact the height is not adjustable, kinda sucks. I am now faced with perhaps buying a replacement piston that is taller. Sigh!
