Download the Whistle Pet Tracker app to get started! When you open the Whistle app for the first time, you'll be prompted with a log in screen, or the option to create an account. Tap "Get Started" to create your account and activate your first tracker. You'll be prompted to select the model of Whistle tracker you'd like to set up. You'll want to make sure your Switch smart collar is fully assembled, and that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone before beginning. Tap "Pair my device" and wait for the Bluetooth scan to locate your Switch. Setup will then take you creating your first pet profile. After your pet profile, you'll create your Safe Place and connect to WiFi. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password on the next screen. Your Whistle will then connect to your selected Wi-Fi network. Then, you will select a subscription and enter your credit card information. You're all set! Please make sure you wait until you receive the notification that the tracker is fully activated before attaching it to your pet's collar (this can take up to 2 hours). Note: If you haven't received an activation notification after 2 hours, try moving your tracker to a windowsill for better cell reception, or take the assembled collar with you on an errand or trip!

Peace of Mind
We have a cat who was stolen and taken a long distance from us. Miraculous ly we found him, he was chipped, but we ordered a whistle collar for him and he doesn't go outside without it now. We added another cat to the family and ordered a second one for him. It isn't a guarantee but it gives us a lot of reassurance!

My only ask that you allow for personalization. It is great to find your pet, but it would be nice if the people who locate them as well could know their name. As of now, I have the dog wearing the new switch as well as the old collar which has his name and my phone number. I would love to have both in 1 collar!

Ease of Battery Swap
I generally try to swap out the battery without removing the collar from my Basset hound. This can become awkward to push the release buttons and then, when replacing it, awkward to get the Whistle device properly aligned. Taking the collar off might be easier, but the dog cooperates better with the collar on.Separately, the Whistle device battery seems to need changing about weekly. A larger battery might make this less of an issue.
