I use it to turn my heating system off when the temp drops below 72 in the cellar. I use a blower to pull heat up out of the cellar. The system must shut down when there is not enough heat otherwise it would blow cold air.

Excellent product, exceptional value

This is a very accurate temperature controller that I used to turn an old chest freezer into a very efficient meat curing refrigerator. As far as accuracy goes, it's almost overkill but the price is right. Whenever the temp goes over 39 F, it turns on power to the compressor, when it hits 36 F, it cuts it off. This unit has the ability to run both a cooling unit and a heater for applications that require holding a narrow temperature range. The display is large and very easy to read. The directions are a little complicated but you just have to read the manual and experiment a little. I consider this a very good buy.
