Marcy Pro Smith Cage Workout Machine Total Body Training Gym System, White

This is the fourth piece of home gym equipment I've purchsed in a 30 year span. This is also the Best piece of home gym equipment I've ever owned. The machine arrived on schedule and came in three large boxes though not all on the same day. I gave 4 stars overall for a few reasons: based on the picture I was expecting the metal parts to be powder coated gloss white, instead the machine is a flat light gray color and there are three areas where a moving metal part touches or rests againts another metal part. Rubber grommets would have been nice for those areas. A minor ding is with the instructioin manual. It contains pictures only; no written instruction. The initial assembly will require two people because the heavy metal pieces must me held together and fastened with nuts bolts and washers. After that, It's a one man job. Doing a little each day, it took me a week to assemble. The most difficult part of the assebly was figuring out how to string the cables through the machine. A YouTube video would have been nice. Customer support was good. Whenever I ran into a glitch or lost a small screw the ladies in customer support answered my questions or sent me a replacement part in the mail at no charge. Unfortunately several of the metal parts had areas where the paint was scratched off; probably due to poor bubble wrap techniques. In one of the boxes, the parts had shifted so much that the plastic, bubble wrap was compromised. Marcy does not have touch-up paint. On a previous home gym I owned, a 2oz bottle of touch-up paint came in the box with the equipment. To fix the paint scratches, I had to take a metal part to Home Depot, to the paint department so that they could scan the metal piece and make me a quart of touch-up paint; it costed $18. Once the machine was fully assembled, I went back and tightened all the bolts. It is a sturdy and attractive piece of equipment. I look forward to using it, once my new weight plates arrive, for a near full body workout. The only part of the body that can not be worked using this machine is the abdomal muscles. I wish they would update the photo in the advertisement to reflect the true color. I learned that it also comes in a dark gray color. Although, I haven't used it yet, pending the arrival of my weight plates, I recommend this home gym because of it's sturdiness, versatility and affordability.

About as close to commercial gym quality as you can get for a home workout gym. It's a great machine with a whole range of different workout routines. The hangup on this product is assembling the Smith Machine. The manufacturer did a very poor job labeling the parts and you'll find there are sooo many parts and is overwhelming and frustrating when you're assembling this machine. My suggestion is to take all the parts out of each of the huge boxes and unpack them all... plan on two hours for this and then another 12 hours assembling this machine. Take your time and don't rush putting this machine together and follow the picture details to the T. It's all worth it though once you're done... I'd give this product 5 stars but the assembly and lack of the parts being labeled I give this product 4 stars.
