I thought it would be actual "beans" or sand like it used to be back in my day but they are soft foam curls so it does not make that "sand" or "bean" sound. It's actually fluffier because of that. Great bean bag chair
The bag was in a little bad packed so hard to get out and hard to roll all the inside to make it look and feel soft for the bag, but once i fought with the bag and broke up the filling it was beautiful and so comfortable . Hard to believe how big it is that big in that little bag it came it !!! Everything is fantastic after that!! Love the bag
