DEWALT Tool Tray , Plastic , Yellow ,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased 2 shallow trays and 2 deep trays for my Dewalt Tough System 2.0. If you are just looking at stacking them one on top of another inside your tool box, these are great. If you are looking at using the tabs to suspend the trays in your tool box like I was, these are useless. The concept is great, but the execution was lacking. The tabs will not stay up to be able to set them on the lip. You can manage to do it if the trays are empty, but when you have batteries or other tools in them you can't get it without the other side flipping down. I wish I would have read the reviews, I would have looked at alternatives.

Although these are a great addition to the toughsystem line there is a very disappointing feature that is not included as shown at the dewalt booth. At the booth, these were shown with a clear lid which makes sense, the inserts do have the clip henges where the lids would snap into, but not available at the time of this review. If you put these in say the small toughsystem box, anything you put in there will just move around and simply just make a mess. With lids, this will prevent small parts from flying around the case. the only option you will have is to carry your case leveled to prevent this from happening which is something we just dont do. The other option is to use the foam inserts if you hold drills and larger items, however small items such as bits and blades will simply get tossed around. I upgraded a ton of 1.0 boxes to the new 2,0 and also purchased a lot of these inserts to use with the boxes, however only 1% of the inserts are used and the rest are just sitting in the warehouse.Useful, but need lids to make them a permanent attachment to the boxes themselves.
