Mepilex Lite is a thin and highly conformable foam dressing that absorbs exudates and maintains a moist wound environment. The Safetac layer seals around the wound edges preventing exudates from leaking onto the surrounding skin, thus minimizing the risk for maceration. The Safetac® layer ensures atraumatic dressing changes. Mepilex Lite can be cut to suit various wound shapes and locations.

This product is excellent for wound care for people who have extremely sensitive or thin skin. The product is self adhesive but has no strong adhesive borders that could tear the skin underneath. I was introduced to this product by a nurse practitioner who specializes in wound care.

This bandage doesn't stick or put anything rough-textured on the wound. Still recommend petroleum jelly underneath bandage on raw wound, with Mepilex held in place by soft stretchable gauze.
