The Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper stands out with its unique ability to adjust contrast levels. By using standard Ilford Multigrade or Kodak Polymax/Polycontrast filters, you can select the desired contrast from a range of grades, similar to that of graded papers. This feature provides you with the flexibility to achieve the perfect balance in your black and white prints. This versatile paper is available in Glossy, Semi-Matte, and Pearl surfaces, catering to a variety of aesthetic preferences. It is designed for use with tungsten or tungsten quartz halogen light sources, although other light sources may yield different contrast values. Handling the Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper is straightforward. It should be opened only in a photographic darkroom, under the illumination of standard OC, red, or sodium vapor safelights. To ensure the best results, keep the safelights at least 3 feet from the paper and minimize exposure to safelights. The Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper can be processed in either trays or roller transport processing machines. It is compatible with any standard black and white photographic paper developer, with a recommended development time of 60 - 90 seconds at 68 Degree F/20 Degree C. After development, use a standard stop bath to halt the process and extend the life of the fixer. The paper should then be fixed in a standard fixing solution for 2-5 minutes at 68 Degree F/20 Degree C. Finally, wash the fixed prints in running water for 3-4 minutes. For optimal preservation, store the Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper in a cool, dry place. For extended storage, a freezer can be used. In either case, allow sufficient time for the paper to warm up and avoid condensation.
