Pre-Owned Dell Latitude E6430 14" Laptop, Windows 10 Pro, Intel Core i5-3210M Processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB Hard Drive

PROs: I even got a 2.7GHz instead of the 2.5 GHz! WOW! It is almost brand new condition. The tops hinges are solid and secure. They even gave me an extra large extended life battery! I had it running on the battery and it took 5 hours to go through 40%! WOW! I never knew a laptop could get that long use from one battery! I love the keyboard stile by dell. I am a fat finger typer, which means I hit two keys all the time. The keys on this one have a large gap between them. Also, I got one with the finger print scanner! Now, if I ever have anything to hide, I can lock it! LOL! CONs: The sides and rear surrounding the keyboard have that rubber coated feel of rubberized cell phone protectors. That is not bad, but the rubber coating was starting to get broken down and made white crumbles when rubbed it. :-( But, as it turned out, I just cleaned it with alcohol whetted wash cloth and it wiped the top layer of the broken down rubber stuff away. The next layer of the rubber stuff is still good and still looks fine with little effort. The ad listing said it had a back up operating partition, it did not. However, It has a program from dell on it that makes a restoration disk(USB drive) that I already used effectively . The BIOS and drivers were out of date, but as usual everybody should always be getting the latest drivers for any computer they have to keep their system operating optimally. Go to Dells web site and enter your number from the laptops bottom, and look for driver downloads. Save them in a good place so you always know where you put them. Follow the instructions. It is very easy. So, the CONs are not anything

The computer took a long time to arrive but it came on the date was supposed to arrive. The case was in excellent condition with just one small make on the side of the lid. The software was preloaded and I was able to get it setup in about about one hour. It took a few hours more to install all the application software I wanted to install. The operating system is a digital system and activated immediately without any problem. It came with 4GB of RAM (one slot filled) and I upgraded the RAM to 16GB (two 8GB sticks) filling the 2 slots for RAM. I also cloned the 320GB mechanical Hard Drive to a SSD 500GB Drive. I was not aware that the optical drive was a read only drive. I though there was a problem with the optical drive when I went to write on a disc. I contacted Joy systems support and they came right back telling me the optical drive is read only. I did some research and found out the optical drive in the E6440 was a a read and write optical. So I ordered a E6440 optical drive from eBay. It worked perfectly and to make it fit perfectly I had to swap the faceplate from the original optical drive that came in the computer with the new one I got from eBay. Bottom line, I am very happy with this purchase and I now have a nice and very fast laptop computer running Windows 10 Professional.
