We have not had this long, but my hubby had no issues installing it in the entryway from the living room to kitchen. Even though we have large dogs that get over excited when company first arrives, they have always been extremely respectful of barriers %26 we don't have to put up much to contain them to the kitchen when they won't leave company alone. I'm not sure if this would work as well IF they tried to push against it. I like that we can just extend it out %26 attach it rather than trying to put totes or boards out. Also, the locking feature is nice %26 works great. We haven't had company since we installed, but we have used it a couple times to allow baby to sit in boppy chair on floor %26 hubby could do some repairs without worrying about dogs underfoot. Shipping was also prompt. Definitely don't regret jumping on this deal %26 look forward to using this as needed.
