Prime 13 vs Das Keyboard 4

Here's a quick comparison I put together doing my research. Key Switches - Both use mechanical Cherry MX switches so the quality is the best you can buy - The 4 comes in blue and brown, but the Prime 13 only comes in brown - Blue "Clicky" makes about 20-30% more noise, which some people find satisfying, and you can also feel a bump or feedback when pressing the keys. - Brown "Soft" is quieter then the blues and have more of a soft or smooth key feel. These are better is you have someone sitting close to you at your office or home. Build - Both have aluminum top panels and feel sold. I think they both weigh around 3.5 to 4 lbs so quality is good on both. Features - To me, the biggest difference is the white LED back lights. This really helps if you work in the dark or dim areas like I do so this is what made me purchase this keyboard over their model 4. If you work in a standard home or office you might be fine without it. - USB - The 4 comes with a USB 3 hub and the Prime 13 has one USB pass thru. If you need to connect other desktop devices at the highest speeds, the 4 is the best. For the occasional USB flash drive or mouse, the Prime 13 is fine. - Media keys - The 4 comes with really nice dedicated keys and an oversized knob, so if you play music or videos a lot this might be the best. The Prime 13 can do this as well, but you need to use a Fn key and an associated key to turn the sound up, down, etc. You really can't go wrong with either, but I found the Prime 13 the best for my needs.

So you think this is exactly what you need?

MX Brown keyswitches, basic backlit keyboard without RGB gameboi effects that require installing a driver (and maybe connecting to the cloud) instead of just plugging it in, reasonable price compared to their other models. Take a close look at the keycaps. On every key with two symbols, the unshifted character is on top with the shifted character below it. __Number keys maybe, and touch typists might not care about the rest if they never just reach for a key without first assuming the position. But in the real world nobody should ever have to hesitate and think about whether the dollar sign, semicolon, question mark etc are unshifted or shifted characters. __Prime 13 is the only keyboard DasKB offers with this bizarre design-for-the-sake-of-design layout, and per tech support, as of April 2021 that will remain your only option on this model.
