The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, 10-Year Battery, Voice Alerts, model p3010cu, provides two fire safety detectors in one unit through the use of photoelectric sensing technology that senses visible fire particles (associated with smoldering fires), while an electrochemical sensor detects carbon monoxide. The Kidde combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm is powered by a 10-year lithium battery, which eliminates the need for battery replacement, while providing coverage during a power failure When a smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide event occurs, the Kidde fire alarm warns with an 85-decibel alarm sound, flashing red LEDs, and voice alerts announcing, "Fire! Fire!". For carbon monoxide detection, the alarm will sound with the announcement "Warning! Carbon Monoxide!". When the smoke alarm is at the end of its life span, the detector will announce, "Replace Alarm!" . The Smart-Hush button silences the unit for approximately 8 minutes, which is helpful when this smoke detector carbon monoxide detector combo sounds from things like routine cooking or shower steam. Install a carbon monoxide smoke detector combo on every level of your home and near bedrooms to help keep your family safe. UL Listed with a 10-Year limited manufacturer warranty on the alarm only (not a battery performance claim). Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that replacement is needed. Middle of the night malfunction, won't stop
I bought this in 2019 and it's failed in 2025, 4 years before it's supposed to be end of life. I have read the other reviews and hours too went off in the middle of the night without any reason. Checked the whole house, there was no fire checked outside, there was no fire. The alarm stopped by itself and I tried to go back to bed. And then a few minutes later it goes off again and now there is no way to make it go quiet. The push to hush button doesn't work and it just keeps going so it's clear that this alarm is malfunctioning. Try to use the directions on the back where it says you can turn this. Dial counter clockwise to get it to stop and break a seal and break a tab underneath it to make it stop if nothing worked so I ended up taking a kitchen knife and prying it open to get the battery out and make it stop. FYI. It's a Panasonic lithium ion battery model number 9ez8, cr-2/3az. The battery itself shows no signs of swelling. Called customer care and they replaced this combination with a new one that will come in the mail in the next two weeks.

Woked great while it still worked; battery died.
We installed this product in March of 2018, and now in November of 2021 the battery is dead and we need to buy a new unit. It's worked well until now (although we haven't had any fires, so that part hasn't really been tested) but I'm frustrated that the unit needs to be replaced so soon.
