My 25 inch 20 pound senior papillon dog is a car dog. Our Kia had a large console, so we had so we had a cute console bed. Our Lincoln Navigator had 25x25 inch seats, so I had a huge dog bed that elevated him. Sadly, new 9 passenger 2026 Ford Transit conversion van posed a new challenge, none of his car seats fit! front seat is 23 inches from armrest to door and 18 inches deep, but the back seats are 18x20. Since I’ll swap him to the back sometimes, I needed a seat that didn’t hang off, because he wasn’t happy when his bed flipped off the seat at a sudden stop TWO TIMES! The search began, and I faced a dilemma…he measures 25 inches from nose to butt. I recruited ChatGTP, and after a 2 hour “chat” we landed on this dog car booster seat. It fits the seat perfectly, and 4 hours into our first road trip I knew I’d made a great choice. As you can see in the pictures, he can comfortably lay down, and rest his little snout on the side of the bed. But, thanks again to ChattyG, I purchased a $5 half moon pillow from Amazon (see pics) that fits perfectly in the cut-out. Now his face can fully rest, without him having to raise his tiny face up to reach the sides. You’ll also see in my photo that we under his booster have the weatherTech full car seat mat. This is by chance, as my grandbaby’s car seat is usually in the van, but for the trip we removed the car seat. If you want the absolute most secure set up, and your booster slides a bit, get the mat! My pup occasionally gets car sick and it’s great for protecting the leather. I didn’t know this had a heated seat, and I’ll need an adapter to plug it in, but I’m not sure if I’d have spent extra for that feature tbh. What I love about this seat is that the seat belt goes through the cover and secures the seat snugly. If you have a larger seat, I’d recommend you purchase the large. I purchased the small because it was the exact measurements of my cars seat. The interior dimensions are 16x16. I strongly recommend that you measure your pup nose to butt when he’s sleeping to make sure he’s got room to move. My guy can lay on his side and almost give me his belly for a rub, but it’s Snug. I actually think this is the safest he’s ever felt in the car. You know that arm thing you do when you’re driving and you stop suddenly and you reach over like you’re going to hold back your passenger? I don’t need to do that with this booster seat. It hasn’t moved an inch. And I know he feels steady because when he doesn’t, he’ll start to pant. No panting here, just a happy safe puppy.
