This product is used on an occasional basis to help take the edge off the end of the day, so that falling asleep - and STAYING asleep - is easier. It does that job well. I also appreciate a sleep aid in liquid form, because the dosage can be modified when less is needed to help with sleep. Can't do that with sleep aids in pill form. The taste is medicinal, but not unpleasant or intolerable. The quality of sleep is less of a sledgehammer than other types of sleep aids, yet gives a solid feel of having rested well. I wake up refreshed, without feeling like I have been heavily drugged. That's what I want from a good night's sleep, so I always have a bottle in the medicine cabinet for the nights when I need it. It's an effective, reliable sleep aid that I would definitely recommend.
