Product details
- 4 straight flutes are ground to provide rapid downward chip removal for efficient threading. Clear threads without burrs, right hand tapping direction. The thread tap makes new threads or re-thread damaged or jammed threads.
- The metric tap can process through or shallow blind holes. Suitable for carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium alloy, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, copper, zinc, alloy steel, hard plastics. Add proper tapping oil for higher quality threads and more durable taps.
- M35 high speed steel (5% cobalt), with high red hardness (retains its hardness even at high working temperature), wear resistance and heat resistance. Titanium (Ti) coating increases hardness, improves lubricity and reduces friction, resulting in longer tool life, better chip evacuation and improved thread quality. The high-performance thread tap ensures precise and accurate thread cutting, and provides clean and smooth threads with minimal burrs or chips
- Machine tap works with tapping machines, drilling machines, milling machines, CNC. Recommended feed speed: ordinary steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel material: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. NOT recommended for hand and electric drill tapping.
- The higher the hardness, the slower the speed. Drill the holes with a twist drill bit first, then tap with a thread tap. The tapping angle should be 90 degrees vertical and stable. The tapping depth should not exceed 1.5 times the diameter of the tap.
