HDMI audio over ethernet for long cable run!
Solved my problem perfectly. I needed to run HDMI across a room from a media player to a HiFi speaker settup and being a novice all I knew was a long HDMI cable run is a no-no. Sending via Cat6 Ethernet cable was a perfect solution! The sending unit sends the audio (and video) signal plus power to the receiving unit to simplify power supply. We used the optical output into a DAC which fed into the amplifier/speaker settup and had no issues. Highly recommend this solution, and the Blackbird HDBaseT Extender Kit for professional results. Thank you Monoprice!!!

Excellent Product
During a remodel I had cat6 lines installed for a projector to the media closet. In the meantime, everything moved from HD to UHD. This extender kit worked like a charm utilizing one of the two cat6 lines sending a 4k signal to my projector. Otherwise, I would have been stuck with an HD signal only.

Our organization has gone through many iterations of HDMI over cat5/6 cable throughout the years, none of which have been rock solid. This one so far has been working great! We're sending a 1080 signal from a computer about 70ft to an HDMI switcher without issue on the previously existing cat5e cable. I like that the power screws and locks in on this one, our previous model used phoenix connectors that somehow always had issues at the most inopportune time. The PoE for the other unit is also a nice touch. I would definitely buy this device again.
