remington smartedge XF8550

WET OR DRY ! with LITHIUM RECHARGEABLE battery. this shaver does not run with the charge cord plugged in. in only runs on the battery. when shaver is done charging, and not in use, this battery stays charged until you are ready to use it again. this is great because I don't have to leave it hanging around with the cord hanging out of it like most shavers. cordless shaving time is 50 minutes. and the shaver has a 2 year warranty. the instructions suggests using gels/foams before using this shaver. but I use it without adding a slick surface. for shaving, you apply water to the area first, then apply the gel/foam, rinse shaver head under water first, then shave face, using short circular strokes throughout the shave. regularly rinse shaver head to avoid residue buildup and clogging. do not press hard against your skin. it is recommended that you use the shaver daily for at least 4 weeks to allow time for the hair and skin to become accustomed to the new shaving system. cleaning: rinse shaver head under water, brush out any residue, and LUBRICATE CUTTERS. every 6 months, lubricate teeth of trimmer. this shaver works well and is convenient. simple to use and clean.

What A Great Change in Razors!

I have always been a Triple Head shaver. I have used this type of razor for 20 + years so when I decided I wanted to try this type of new razor I was not sure what to expect. The Remington SmartEdge Foil Shaver is GREAT! I love the high tech color and design. But just because it looks great, that doesn't mean it is going to perform as a good razor. The Foil Screan shaving head has a pivitol rotation which makes it easy for hard to get at areas on the face. I love the recharging cradle that the razor comes with...and don't forget to charge it the obligatory 24 hours! It is easy to clean...a brush is provided. has a travel pouch. It can be used wet or dry...in or out of the shower. I actually use a small amount of hydrating shave oil to prep the skin and then I start with the razor...give it about a minute to soften the beard. This is an exceptional razor at an exceptional price. You will love it. Good luck!

Easy to use

This electric shaver is great if your looking for a quick shave. The shaver doesn't give as close as a shave as a normal razor but it is very quick. Unfortunately since since it doesn't give a very close shave you will notice stubble the next day, unlike a razor which you can go two or three days before needing a shave again. The shaver is waterproof and can be used in the shower but it did not work as well for me using it wet as just using it dry, though i only used water and didn't use any cream. The shaver i receiver was charged so it was ready to use right out of the box. The shaver comes with a carry bag to hold everything and the charging stand folds up around the shaver to save space and protect it. The shavers pop out trimmer is great for trimming side burns and long beards. If your going to spend the money on an electric shaver this should be the one. Ive had other electric shavers in the past that just don't stand up to this one. By far the best electric shaver ive owned and the most expensive.
