Item Master Window Valances, Cottages, 2 Pack

The Valances I have chosen are 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton. They were made in China. They were packaged in a clear plastic envelope which closes with snaps. The envelope measures about 9 inches by 7 3/4 inches. Once you remove the Valances the envelope could be used to store greeting cards, doilies, note pads, etc. or put some water in it, with or without pennies, and hang it to deter flies. (Flies think it is a large barricade.) Or it can be recycled with other plastic. The Valances themselves are 15 inches by 44 inches and would probably be fine for a window measuring about 30 inches. The pattern I chose is called "Cottages" and it has cute little houses or cottages printed on the material in the soft colors red, pink, yellow, blue, lavender, off white. The houses made me think of little gnome huts or fairy houses or bird houses. I think to carry out the theme one could put a little house somewhere in the kitchen which is probably where these Valances are going to be hung. They will give the room a charming, warm, casual and friendly look. They are soft, pretty, and easy on the eye, not the least bit serious. A kitchen painted in one of these colors would complete a beckoning and welcoming look. Following the instructions on the material I laundered them in cold water and then dried them in the dryer. The measurement is the same, both pre and post laundry, 44 inches by 14 inches, with 2 inch tabs. They did not need ironing. I find I cannot do much without thinking of recycling. When it comes time to change the look of the kitchen I think there would be options for the Valances: Cover pillows for the sofa, make aprons, make covers for mixers or toaster. To sum of my thoughts on these cute Cottage Valances I honestly found that I like them more each time I look at them. I think you will too.
