Has a bit of depth with nice sides but lower on one side for ease of entry. Nice and roomy for my senior cat who uses is daily. Well contructed with adequate base padding. I add a warm fleece pad for additional warmth and comfort durung the winter. Sships from CA, so have patience. Well worth the wait. Definately recommend over any others we have tried over 10 years. Back for a 2nd purchase. Nothing says satisfaction like daily use.
