A Florida Standard

For Florida bass fishing, the gold and black color of the Boy Howdy perfectly imitate a wild shiner that Florida Bass feed on. This lure has just a little bit of different action and doesn't float as high as the Smithwick Devil's Horse which is also a killer. If you fish Florida, pick up a gold one, and you won't be disappointed.

tied with dual prop tiny torpedo for best top water bait I have ever used

When I was growing up this was my "GO TO!" lure whenever I needed to put some fish in the boat or to quite a "fierce competitor" or friend. It seemed to work in all seasons. The color of choice was perch with the wide red stripes. One summer, my dad, myself and four friends, using the wide red stripe perch boy howdy caught over 250 largemouth bass on a 3 day fishing trip. It was exciting "calling your cast!" If I could find them now in that particular color scheme, I would buy 20 of 'em (providing the price wasn't totally ridicules)! They work great especially around the large cypress trees that are abundant here in Louisiana!

Too water lures

This is my favorite top water lure period. It absolutely drives largemouth crazy. Nothing like seeing one come up and bust the water to eat this lure. Way to go Cotton Cordell.
