We used these mats for workout area in our house. They are perfect! They fit together nicely, and I like that I could order different pack sizes to get exactly the configuration that we needed. We did trim without difficulty so we could fit them to our exact room dimensions. You do have to make sure that you put them together correctly so the straight edges are where you want them. Otherwise, you end up with interlocking edge on the outside instead of the straight edge piece. You'll figure it out if you've ever put legos together. Anyway, the 1/2” was squishy enough and keeps the weights from wrecking the floor. Also, the dog did a few burn outs on them ,and they held up pretty well. Great company, great workout mats
