This is a well-designed, well thought-out little emergency unit that works perfectly. I was at first dismayed at the small box, the small size, the sketchy instructions, but after cranking it to wake up the electronics and charging it overnight it easily pulled in the radio station I sometimes have trouble with. It feels very sturdy, and the flashlight is blindingly bright, the reading light nicely diffuse. The solar panel is only for keeping the battery from going dead while the unit is shut off, but the hand crank works easily for instant power, and the USB works for both fully charging it and as a power block for charging your phone.
