Purchased the item Sunday received it a day early on Wednesday. Item is well packaged and protected. Magnifier comes with: nice box with cutout foam, lens wipe, instruction book, absolute co-witness mount with spacer for lower 1/3, Allen wrench, mounting screws, and lens cover caps. I am very impressed with the setup. Most importantly came with the Vortex lifetime guarantee, a must for someone like me who once shattered a Casio G-shock watch and breaks anything else I touch.
Unboxed it and mounted it on a Marlin 1895 45-70. Took it to the field, put a Holosun 515GM on the rifle, sighted it in, marked the base and the rail to indicate installed position, and fired 10 more rounds of 325 grain Leverevolution on target. Sight was still centered in the magnifier at round 10 and it had not moved. Took it off and put it on a 16" AR-15 in 5.56 with an Sig Sauer Romeo 5 . Set up some shoot-n-sees at 75 yards and could easily see the target. Flipped off the magnifier and with my aging bad eyes connected but not great. Magnifier back on- easily able to maintain decent groups and see the impacts on the shoot-n-sees. This speaks to its clarity because I have retinopathy so when I say I have bad eyes you can take that to the bank.
Magnifier is clear. How clear? Well, it's clearer than my Eotech G33 and a heck of a lot cheaper. I have a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9 on my son's rifle- the glass was clearer than the scope. Of course, putting additional lenses from your red dot in front of it will degrade the quality but it was still excellent. Eye relief is better than the G33 and so is scope shadow.
The mount doesn't lock in place but you'd have to want to make it move. Dropping my AR on the ground from shoulder height several times did not dislodge the magnifier from either the down or side position. It isn't hard to move it, but it requires deliberate effort.
At the time of this writing I paid less than $290 with tax and expedited shipping. It is much shorter than my G33 and from what I have seen pretty much most other magnifiers. Given it's clarity, weight, quality mount, and lifetime warranty I cannot justify spending the kind of money I did on my G33 ever again. There are those who may argue, "Well the Marines use the G33..." I'm not the Marines. I'm not jumping out of helicopters, climbing out of armored vehicles, or having mortars go off near me. I'm patrolling my property on my ATV or side by side and from what I've seen it will handle that no problem. Well worth the money, and will probably get one for my wife and swap out her LPVO with this and a red dot.
