Either way it is certainly no fun trying to get an inner or outer (or both) tie-rod ends replaced and maintaining that perfect alignment you have from that shop everyone trusts to align hot rods and classic cars. Well now you don’t have to rely on counting or that bent up tape measure when adjusting tie rods with our Universal Tie Rod Setup Tool. Made from extruded aluminum and 6061-T6 billet aluminum components, our tie rod tool will last a lifetime, be it for personal use or in a professional shop environment. The billet aluminum blocks on our tie rod adjusting tool utilize 10-degree tapered holes on one side and 7-degree tapered holes on the other. Simply insert the tie rod’s tapered stud into the proper hole and secure with the tie rod’s castle nut finger tight. Slide the adjustable blocks of universal tie rod tool to the proper position to match your inner and outer tie-rod end assembly and lock them in place. The optional bolt-on slide plates can be used for tie-rod ends that utilize horizontal threaded studs, such as some inner tie-rod ends attached to center links. Now, assemble your new tie-rod ends using your original (or new) adjuster sleeves until the length allows the tie rod studs to seat fully into the adjuster blocks.
