The picture makes it look darker, but the colors are still nice. I used it for a kids room so the quality wasn't priority more the color to match. It is soft and can probably fold up and fit in one of the big washers at the laundry for easy cleaning. I personally wish it was thicker to absorb more shock but since that wasnt priority I'm just glad its not the rough, hard, backing you usually find on carpet.
