I have had these Irwin pliers for over a year now and they still work perfectly. When received, fit and function was flawless with no sticky hangups that you sometimes feel on real cheap diagonal cutters. That is usually a telltale sign that the two halfs have not been ground to match properly.
Although these are made in China, the quality is better than most and should last you a lifetime of usage if you do not overload the pliers by cutting way over the load of which they can handle.
For example,
This review is for the smallest size in "6 which is light duty only. I am musician of 40+ years so, these pliers are only used for nickle plated steel guitar strings no larger than .068 down to .008 thousandths.
Every cut is clean and precise as long as I have my fingers out of the way. Lol
Plus, the only noticeable wear after a year of use is that the bluing on the inside edges of the pliers has worn off a little. Blade edges are still as sharp as when I purchased them.
Remember, don't overload them and you will be fine. Choose a larger size for bigger materials of course...
I highly recommend these pliers and would buy them again if the need arises.
Best regards,
