There was communication that there was a delay in sending this item but the text didn't say how long. I was concerned at first that it might be a long delay because it was already cold outside. However, I got another text a couple days later that said it was going to be delivered and it was. It is just the right size. It is so soft. I love the number of options for level of heat and length of time for auto turn off. This allows me to get warm without getting too warm and sweat a lot. I use it on my queen bed but I only need it to cover me. Because of finances, I keep my heat at 64 degrees so my bed is cold at night. I was using a large heating pad prior to that but I was worried I was going to wear it out because I used it every night and it's a really nice heating pad. While I notice the wires when I am making the bed, I don't notice them much when I am in bed. The other issue with using the heating pad was that it restricted movement while I was sleeping. I thought I was getting really old because I was no longer turning in my sleep with the heating pad. Not so! I am turning again in my sleep now with this electric blanket. Also the heating pad only has 3-4 settings on it and I found that I sweat more with it. The heat from the blanket is more subtle and that's what I need since I am prone to sweat a lot if I am overheated. The blue color matches my blanket even though it's only visible when I make the bed. I could see if someone was using it just as a throw with nothing underneath it that the wires could be annoying but I would suggest a thin blanket underneath it and then you probably wouldn't notice it. I am pleased with the product and the communication during the delivery process.
