Beautiful and versatile but wobbly
It's a beautiful day bed with pop-up trundle. I love that it's so versatile. I bought it for my arts and crafts room for a place to sprawl out while crafting, and also for my in-laws or my nieces to use when they come over. We just assembled it tonight and I do have to say I'm a bit skeptical that the daybed itself is sturdy enough. The only thing holding up the side walls of the daybed are two brackets, one on either side and the slats, and when you try to move the daybed the sides flex/move/buckle so it must be moved with two people. It probably needs a center support beam down the middle of the slats and potentially another bracket on either side of the side walls to hold it to the backboard so that way the sides don't flex and move when you're sliding the bed around. Also, to my surprise, once the trundle bed is erect, the front of the daybed that holds the mattress in place is thick and tall and sticks up quite a bit when the beds are side-by-side and seems to me like it would be preventing the two mattresses from touching ( and becoming one king size bed) and when being laid on, a very hard and uncomfortable bump. I have not placed the two 6 inch mattresses on it yet to see how it looks or feels so I may be adding and changing this review later.
