It feels more like cotton. It's light weight but does have some weight to it unlike others I have bought. But still thin enough you can stick it in a washer/dryer easily. I bought the Full/Queen. The shams are huge-have to buy Queen size pillows for them. I love it so much I sent two other quilts back from other stores that cost a lot more! Shown in the picture it is on a Full size bed. Still think the picture shown above/product image is more accurate.
