I thought the Hinge HPs were great, now this!

This past Christmas I bought my son a pair of wired Hinge headphones. I've been a Polk fan since the late 1980's, so now it's his turn to get into the brand. When he let me try them out I was blown away by the sound. Fantastic bottom, crisp mids and highs, I was impressed! Now they have this version. I've never used a pair of wireless headphones before, but I'm not sure I could ever go back. Polk reputation and build quality without wires....Awesome! The sound is every bit as good as the wired version. They even come with a hardwire, presumably for when the batteries wear down and you still have to rock. The controls are intuitive and simple and the materials are top notch. They are definitely a big step above my previous phones from a big name competitor (purchased years ago). I've never been disappointed by Polk. Highly recommended!!

Super Sound Quality & Style

I have owned quite a few pairs of headphones and I must say these are my definite favorite. These are my first pair of Bluetooth headphones and it is a total game changer. The ease of connecting makes these easy to operate with any device. The sound quality is superb. Great balance of high, mid and low frequencies. Enough bass to get you bumping, but at the same time the bass is not overpowering and fatiguing over time unlike other headphones I have owned. Not only do these headphones sound great, but they look even better. My head smiles every time I throw these on.

Amazing Product!! Very Detailed Review

Sorry for the very lengthy review, it sort of got away from me as I was writing it. Hope this helps if you're comparing wireless headphones. I've owned my pair for 2 weeks now with daily use. Appearance: Perfect! The color combination (Camel color) and overall look and feel are top notch. I've already had compliments on these at work. I wish the leather was real, but the faux leather quality appears very high and has a great feel to it. I'm fairly certain it's lighter weight than real leather too, which was probably part of the decision for this. Fit/Comfort: I have a smaller head than a lot people. Most baseball caps either have to be tightened nearly all the way or they are simply too large for me. I say this so you can gauge my review. For me, the fit is a little loose. I do have the ears extended 3/8 on each side for height, but width wise I wish they were slightly tighter. Unless I shake my head, they will not fall off, so not overly loose. And given that I usually wear these for 2-3 hours at a time, I actually believe the looser fit results in long-wear comfort. After about 5 hours or so my ears become a little uncomfortable, so I imagine stronger pressure would result in more discomfort in a shorter amount of time. Fit aside, the headphones are VERY comfortable. The padding on the earpiece is quite soft and plush. This certainly plays into my higher level of comfort for extended wear. I also feel that the weight is negligible and never feels heavy to on head. It's certainly heavier than small earbuds, but that's to be expected. Sound: If you've ever experienced Polk Audio before, you'll know what to expect here. They didn't miss a beat with their headphones. Amazing sound quality as always! Sound Quality is a very SUBJECTIVE thing and is best compared to beauty...it's lies in the 'ear' of the beholder. I have always found Polk's sound quality to be amazing and have preferred them over many other higher end (relatively speaking) brands. If you are unfamiliar with Polk, they tend to favor lower frequencies than some other brands, but I feel that works well for the types of music most people are probably using these for. Jazz and Classical may be too "bassy" for your tastes, though personally I like my jazz with a little more bass. At least with clear, distinct bass notes. Polk delivers no less with these headphones and I am very pleased with the quality. For reference, I generally listen to Rock, Punk, Alternative. Although I do listen to some smooth jazz from time to time. I also use these for watching TV/videos. Features: I really like that Polk decided to provide a detachable 1/8" cord (which effectively turns these into a corded headset). I have not actually used this feature myself, Polk says it will power the headphones when the batteries are dead...meaning the headphones will draw power through the 1/8" cord. I really like this feature as in a pinch (when Bluetooth fails or the battery dies) you can fall back to a reliable standard. Of course, that means you must remember to bring the cord. Controls: The only controls are from a single button which can be pressed down or scrolled up/down. The controls are very simple: Press & Hold = power on/off; Press 2x = skip forward; Press 3x = skip backwards; Scroll Up = increase volume; Scroll Down = decrease volume....as well as a few others which you won't use too often. The actual use of this button is a tiny bit tricky. And I do mean tiny. When pressing down, it is fairly easy to scroll up/down slightly which results in either no action or unanticipated action. I've only had trouble with this when turning on or off. I'll scroll ever so slightly and the headphones won't power on/off. I simply try a 2nd time and get it right. No big deal really. I do have a hard time scrolling up/down while wearing gloves. There's not enough grip on the gloves to allow me to scroll up/down well. Not a big deal here either in my opinion. Other than these very tiny issues, I can't see why some people have complained about this. All in all it's a very simple and easy to use control. Battery Life: Polk claims 12 hours of batter life. I believe they last longer at low volume. I generally keep mind at low power while using them at work or home. While walking to work I increase them 2-3x due to additional street noise, but never need them higher than this so far. Because of this, I have gone 2 full days (with intermittent use) before needing to charge them. It's difficult to estimate actual use time, but they certainly last more than long enough for me. You can easily get a solid, full day's use out of them and still not be out of juice. CONS: I put this here only to point out very small cons I've noticed. 1. When powering on/off, the sound played is very loud. I recommend turning the headphones on/off while not wearing them. 2. There does not appear to be any audible indication that the headphones have low power or are about to turn off. There is light, but unless you look in a mirror or a reflection, you're not really going to notice it. I could be wrong here as I've only had them 2 weeks and only ran out of power once.
