The "ice cream" maker is actually soft-serve. It only holds 1 1/2 cups of ingredients at a time, and requires time between uses to cool the motor. Other than those two things, it does make a yummy cold dessert with little effort. Depending on the temperature of your freezer, it may take at least several hours to thaw whatever you add from your freezer.
