The new-ness of material, is stiff and off putting but I probably can't complain because they are BEAUTIFUL. The lemons on blue stripe are just what I want in a potholder (2). I cook a lot and don't want to get burned so I use them quite often. They have material on one side and protective silver on the other. My old ones are ready for the trash!
