This is actually VERY light for a worsted weight. It's more like light-worsted to DK, It's also VERY rough and itchy.

Thank you so much for trying our Patons Classic Wool Worsted! As it is 100% wool, we understand that this product is not for everyone. We follow the Standard Yarn Weight System supplied by the Craft Yarn Council of America to determine the weight of our yarns. Keeping in mind that everyone's tension may vary, Patons Classic Wool Worsted has the following knitting gauge: 20 sts and 26 rows with a 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needle. As our team felt it was too heavy for a #3, it was categorized under #4. We hope this information is helpful, and appreciate the time that you have taken to share your thoughts.
