I wear this outside for several hours at a time on the coldest of Wisconsin winter days and love it. Fabric is warm, lightweight, and durable. Hat and face parts fit snug, which helps keep wind out, but if you have a large face and head with lots of hair, this might be too tight for you, because there's not a lot of room or "give" in the fabric. Doesn't dig into the face on an average size face. Neck part is loose but not bulky, which makes it comfortable to wear over a flannel shirt and fit under a coat and still warm. Fabric is easy to breathe through but fairly windproof. During windy below-zero days, hat isn't warm enough to wear without a hood or another hat on top. Love the hinge style for an option to lower back the hat when needed.

This balaclava is best for a long day's hard work outdoors. It even retains warmth in zero degrees weather. I am very impressed by this product. For years I have tried to find the best type of cold weather gear for my work crew of 25 men and women. This is my best recommendation to them to be able to get the job done day after day, rain or shine, sleet or hail, without having setbacks affiliated with colder weather. Refrigiwear is the best company to purchase cold weather gear from. Thanks to Refrigiwear, my work crew is always able to accomplish the most difficult jobs in the most difficult weather. It even brought in top dollar raises because of the additional work that other work crews were inept at being able to complete because of improper gear. My work crew was able to outshine the other work crews by a landslide. It helped to bring a much better meaning to the job.
