Maidenform Womens Tame Your Tummy Firm Control Booty Lift Shorts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm picky when it comes to shapewear, probably because there are so many ways it can go wrong: inferior material, tight elastic causing you to bulge in other places, ill fitting, shaping your body into an unflattering shape, etc. The list goes on and on. I ordered these with cautious optimism as despite the fact that I've generally been a fan of Maidenform products, my overall experience with shapewear in general has left a lot to be desired. For reference, I am a 5'10" woman who has lost a significant amount of weight. Not only do I tend to be too tall/long for most shapewear, but I have excess skin from my weight loss as well. Needless to say, my booty has seen better days and I wasn't expecting any miracles here. With that said, I slid into these booty shorts and couldn't belive what they did for my derriere! These shorts are constructed of nylon and spandex with strategically placed variations in the material's thickness. The legs, front and most of the rear are a lighter weight: still offering some shaping and smoothing without digging in or restricting movement. I feel it's important to note that the legs do not have an elastic band on the bottom edges, which is a HUGE plus. No weird bulging, no uncomfortable tightness. Onto the thicker material: the waist band is generously wide up front and narrows around the sides to the back so it doesn't try to roll when I sit. This thicker material provides increased compression and smoothing, but again, doesn't dig in or create unflattering bulge above it. The best feature of these shorts, however, are the curved sections of thicker material that contour where the bottom of your booty is ( or where it is supposed to be, in my case). When you pull them on it's like sliding into a well fitting glove. These curved portions provide extra support to hold your booty in place (and in the right shape!) and the thinner material over your buttocks creates such an amazing silhouette. I honestly can't belive how good I look in these shorts, and how comfortable they are! I was fortunate to receive a pair of these for free from Maidenform for the purpose of evaluation. I had all but given up on shapewear and these give me hope again that I really can gain confidence in my appearance without sacrificing comfort. I highly recommend them and will definitely be purchasing more!
