My only suggestion would be to sink the screws on the bottom you plan to place on a nice floor OR do what I am going to do, use velcro furniture pads. Otherwise, it may scratch the floor. Not a deal breaker, just wanted to relay that. This item includes a drill bit IF you want to use your own drill. Tools are included, little Phillips driver and wrench. I like they used white head screws since the cabinet is white. These parts are good thickness and not like the old cheap thin flimsy stuff. One shelf is stationary and four shelves you can position however you want. This is tall so if you have children around or big pets that might knock it over, included is the hardware to attach it to the wall. This item can be utilized for various things, not just books. It would be a cute display cabinet for the dining room or living room. Keep in mind, you can actually turn it the other way, instead of standing it up, in so doing, the shelves would be dividers. There is also something else you can do, place small cubby bins inside the shelf areas. Great for filling a lonely boring space!
