I'll be honest, I almost sent these shoes back. I am glad I didn't. These were my first purchase of shoes designed for walking. At first they felt weird in that the shoe is designed for your heel to sit lower than the front of your foot. It almost feels like you're leaning back on your heels. I couldn't see how this was good for walking. Also, the entire sole is much thicker than my other pairs of NB shoes for tennis. I decided to keep them, and I'm glad I did. I wear them everyday when I walk my dog for our usual 1-2 mile walk. Every outing the shoes felt less weird and more supportive. By the 4th day I felt completely comfortable. I've owned them for a month and now really enjoy wearing them daily.

My feet can tell the difference. I strayed away from New Balance and my feet paid the price. I'm on my feet for many hours at a time and my feet got so sore in the other brand. Once my feet were in New Balance again they felt much much better after a very long walk or at then end of a long shift on my feet.
